2023 Summary
The new year started off fairly slowly. Ella spent her free time baking in the kitchen...homemade bagels, three layer cake for her friends and pork dumplings....sooo yummy!!
We had a surprise visit from the Havas family over the MLK weekend
In February, we went to Florida over President's Day weekend to visit Paul's parents. We had a wonderful time as always!
Over spring break (first week of April), Ella made 150 homemade sugar cookies to be sold at school for a fundraiser. It was a lot of work but successful initiative.

Early May we traveled to South Dakota for my Aunt Faye's funeral. It was a quick trip celebrating Aunt Faye's life and visiting several Athey cousins, aunts and uncles. We also spent some time visiting with Marion Larsen in her assisted living community.
Happy 29th birthday Evan...we love you both so much!!!
Surprised my bff Dawn over Memorial Day weekend to give her my condolences regarding her mom's passing on May 20th. So thankful that I could spend a couple of days together!!
June 9th, Ella performed with the Atlanta Youth Wind Symphony at Carnegie Hall in NYC. Paul and I flew up to New York to attend the concert which was amazing!!!
Ella donated over 13 inches of hair to Wigs for Kids.com. So proud of her!!
JULY......Happy 80th birthday to Uncle Roger!!! A surprise celebration was coordinated by many loved ones for Uncle Roger the weekend of Friday, July 21 through Sunday July 23rd.
August, 7th our precious girl started her senior year....WOW!! Below is Ella's 1st day of Kindergarten and 1st day of 12th Grade!
SEPTEMBER 9, 2023 - DANEE AND EVAN'S WEDDING
We all had the best time celebrating with family and friends! Evan's grandpa (Martin Lazar) officiated the wedding...so special! Danee worked really hard putting together all the details for the wedding and it was incredibly beautiful!!!!!
October 12, 2023, we flew to New Jersey and celebrated Brianna and Ross's wedding!!! The wedding was so much fun and beautiful!!!!
In the fall, Paul and I volunteered at Northview H.S. football games in the visitor concession stand for all the home games. We were able to watch the marching band perform which was such a treat!!
Thanksgiving 2023 was spent with the Lazar's in Scottsdale, Arizona eating at amazing restaurants and just enjoying each others company!!
While in Arizona, we drove to Tuscan and visited my Uncle Terry and Aunt Jennifer. We had the best time reconnecting! We enjoyed visiting the Tuscan outdoor desert museum followed by a delicious lunch prepared by my Aunt and Uncle...so yummy!!
In December, we took a quick trip to Hoover, Alabama. We visited our old neighbor Mrs. Mary Short and her new dog Buster which was such a delight to catch up with her!!
After visiting Mary, we went to the Sewell's for the evening. It is always such a fun time hanging out with the family!!!
